Mrs. Chapin claimed by death, Mother of Chief of Press Bureau succumbs at home, Succumbing after an illness of only one week, Mrs. Emma Nutter Chapin 86, and Mother of Ray Chapin, manager of the Long Beach Press Bureau, died yesterday at her home 5274 East Broadway, she was the widow of Lucius H. Chapin, for many year a prominent newspaperman of Illinois and Ohio, of Pioneer Mass. stock she was born on May 24th.1852 in Perry, Pike County Illinois. Mrs. Chapin came to Long Beach from Hudson Ohio thirteen years ago, besides her son she is survived by a daughter Mrs. Lerna C. Kelly, of this city, Mrs. Chapin was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be at 2 PM. Monday at the Simson-Dilday funeral home with Rev. Johnson Calhoun of the United Presbyterian Church officiating.
