Many thanks to my Good Buddy Carol for sponsoring Gladys' memorial page !!! Such a nice thing to do and a great surprise when I needed it most. Hugs !

My Second Cousin
Gillespie

I was so sad to learn of Gladys' death. She was such a warm good hearted person. She was the mother of little Joey Barnard, in my listings. I am so glad he has his parents with him once again. I enjoyed my last visit to see her so much.
Glady is the daughter of John and Cora Gillespie. Her Mom died when she was a small child and her Dad remarried and the step mother was not good to these children. They had a hard childhood. The oldest child Lois, as soon as she married she took Gladys and maybe other sibling in and they lived with her until they were grown up. Gladys told me herself she cried so much until Lois took her, she said she didn't care if she had little to eat or wear, she wanted to live with Lois.
These children all grew up to be great adults, did very well and were honest and very nice. Gladys was the sweetest person I ever met.
She was a sister to Lois, Geneva and one brother, R.L.
She married Ralph Barnard and they had one child, a down syndrome child named Joey. (in my listings. After Joey died they adopted 4 children. All with handicaps. This shows the type of person she was.
Her husband was a supervisor of a textile mill and they prospered in their long and happy marriage.
God Bless You Gladys through out all eternity with your family you are reunited with. Give my Grandmother, your Aunt Maude a hug for me. I miss her so much.
Gladys' Dad and his 2nd wife had 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy. I met one of the daughters when I visited Gladys in 2004
