Ignatius BOTS was born July 29th.1916 in WILNIS-HOLLAND.
August 3th.1941 consecrate to Roman Catholic Priest.
Short after World War 2 Father Bots started as Priest in the Royal Dutch Marinecorps.
He was with the Marines Brigade in the Dutch East-Indies and always to find on the Battlefield when there was a Combat with Terrorist.
He was there when a Marine was dying to give Him the last Sacrements and to Bless Him,some of the young Marines died in His arms.
He was always with His Jeep in the Bush,visiting when Marines were on Patrol.
He helped them when they had mental problems,giving them spiritual counselling.
After returning to Holland Father Bots visited always the Reunions of the Veteran Marines.
They all loved Him very much.
He was a very warmharted Priest,very kind and always trying to help.
Father Bots died September 8th.2003 in the Abbey of Berne in HEESWIJK-Holland and the Funeral took place September 13th.2003 on the Cemetery of the Abbey.
RUST IN VREDE BESTE PATER BOTS.
Rest in Peace dear Father Bots.
Your Marines will never forget you!
