Rites Today For Retired I.C. Employee Who Was 78
Services for Robert Lee Wilkerson Sr. of 2342 Raleigh-Frayser Road, a retired Illinois Central employe, will be held at 2:30 this afternoon at National Funeral Home. The Rev. Russell Duffer will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park.
Mr. Wilkerson, who was 78, died at 2:57 a.m. yesterday at St. Joseph Hospital. (Heart Attack)
Born in Independence, Miss., Mr. Wilkerson came to Memphis as a young man. He was employed by the railroad as a section foreman in 1908 and retired as car inspector in 1943. Mr. Wilkerson was a former member of the Woodmen of the World and an active member of Ardmore Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Minnie McIntosh Wilkerson; five daughters, two sons, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
