Ralph Mark Labarge & Yvonne Marie Berghoefer at their wedding

Ralph served as Military Police in the US Army. He was the proud father of five young children at the time of his death on March 2, 1959 at the young age of 31. The cause of death was burns he had endured from a fire at the home of friends in which his young wife Yvonne was also in. Yvonne endured 3rd degree burns to over 50 percent of her body. She spent over one year in the hospital and rehabilitation after the fire before being able to go home and tend to her young children. Yvonne became both mother and father to her children as they were growing up and working hard to give them a good life. Yvonne had a second marriage that produced 4 more children and she ultimately raised them because the marriage ended in divorce. She alone raised nine children. My Grandma loved to cook and loved to have lots of people over. In the summer she would have cook-outs and enjoyed working in her yard. During Christmas, she always had a huge tree with presents underneath for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved country music. In 1996 Yvonne learned she had cancer. She took on and fought the dreadful disease with the same courage and determination she had to service the fire years before. Unfortunately, she was not able to survive her cancer. With loving family gathered around her bedside, she passed on June 29, 2001. Ralph and Yvonne have truly been missed by family and friends.
