Actress. She is best remembered for her voice portrayal of the radiant Princess Odette in the animated feature film "The Swan Princess" (1994). Born into a family of wealth and position, after attaining her degree in theatrical arts from Northwestern University she made her Broadway debut in 1983 performing as Ariadne in the original cast of "Merlin". While starring as Eponine in the 1983 national tour of "Les Misérables", she was discovered by film director Marcelo Epstein. Impressed by her beautiful appearance and articulate voice, he arranged for her to relocate from New York City, New York, to Los Angeles, California, to begin a career in film, beginning with her being under his direction in the motion picture "Body Rock" (1984). For the next 20 years, she flourished as a household name on television, often typecast as best friends, nurses, doctors, lawyers, models, playgirls, socialites, businesswomen, attractive wives, and heiresses, in such syndicated sitcoms as "Airwolf," "Suzanne Pleshette is Maggie Briggs," "Cover Up," "Charles in Charge," "Knight Rider," "Murder, She Wrote," "Days of our Lives," "Simon & Simon," "Full House," "A Peaceful Kingdom," "The New Lassie," "Dragnet," "Santa Barbara," "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Bodies of Evidence," "The Garry Shandling Show," "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles," "Coach," "Wings," "Johnny Bravo," "The Angry Beavers," "Xena: Warrior Princess," "Rugrats," and "The Tony Danza Show". She also had feature roles in such films as "Bad Guys" (1986), "When Harry Met Sally..." (1989), "The Swan Princess: Escape from Castle Mountain" (1997), and "The Swan Princess: The Mystery of the Enchanted Treasure" (1998). During her career, she recorded 4 four solo albums, was a chairwoman for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, was active with the California State Democratic Committee, and she was the president, and co-founder, of the online sales corporation Truly Mom. In 2001, she retired from acting following her appearance as Eileen Sherwood in a revival of "Wonderful Town" and upon completion she spent the remainder of her life living comfortably in the California suburbs being devoted to marriage and motherhood.
