In her childhood her family moved over 22 times. She never completed a school year in the same school. By age 17 they moved to McCammon, Idaho where, on a blind date, she met William LaMont Green, who had recently graduated from College. They secretly eloped a few weeks later, hoping to wait until he got his first pay check from Union Pacific Railroad to set up housekeeping. They made their home in Pocatello from which she never moved again. She worked very hard to create a stable, constant, loving environment for her children that she had never had as a child. LaMont died in 1984 and in 1987 she married Chester E. Dorsey (dec'd 1996). Norma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She created an environment where everyone felt loved and important. She loved company and had a way of making everyone feel welcome and at home. She was a family gatherer, the epitome of the "Hostess with the Mostest", who loved to entertain family and friends. Holiday dinners were her specialty. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and friend. She loved to visit and joke and tell stories and play games. Her testimony, love and example will be great missed by all who knew her.
Norma is the mother of Allen, Linda, Cheryl, & Tawna.
