Ernest Francis "Ernie" Kulikowski, Sr., age 90, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in Jackson. He was formerly of Albion. He was born in Albion on May 1, 1924, the son of Lithuanian immigrants Nikodemas and Theodora (Barvydaite) Kulikauskas. He attended the Albion Public Schools. Ernie worked in various jobs around the Albion area, including Hubert's Greenhouse. Ernie served in the U.S. Army in both World War II, and the Korean War.
He married Nancy Z. Fenley in 1954; the marriage ended in divorce. He is survived by a son, Ernest Kulikowski, Jr. of Jackson, a grandson, Jason Kulikowski of Indiana, a great-grandson Kevin Dunnifin of Niles, MI; a great-granddaughter, Cari Kulikowski, and two sisters: Pauline (Kulikowski) Passic of Albion, and Sophia (Kulikowski) Cobb of Success, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Kulikowski; his parents; brothers and sisters: Julius, Stella, Teddy, Joseph, Victor, Mike, George, Stanley, John, Casper, and Lawrence. He was also preceded in death by a long-time companion, Florence Garriott.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21 from 4 pm to 8 pm J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Homes, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 22 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Walt Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
