Reverend Theodore James Massey, known to family and friends as Jim, or the Rev, was born on April 16, 1944 to Lee Roy and Cora Jewell (Davidson) Massey in Hobbs, New Mexico. He passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015, in Springfield, Missouri.

Gifted with a beautiful singing voice by God, he sang at local churches in his home town of Eunice, NM. He proudly served in the Army as Chaplain's Assistant during the Vietnam War. After his service, he earned his Master's Degree in Theology from SMU in 1981, and he became a fully ordained Methodist minister in 1983. He faithfully served various churches in the New Mexico Conference for 30 years. Like all ministers, he never really retired, serving part-time as an older adult minister at Wesley United Methodist Church in Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Weldon Massey; his sisters, Jewell Ellen Belle Massey and Nelda Estelene Bennett.

Jim is survived by his angel of 39 years, Charlotte; his daughters, Teresa (Buddy) Watson, and Melody Massey; his grandson, James Charles Massey-Burns; his brother, Roy Massey; sisters-in-law, Cathy Massey and Dorthy Massey. He touched everyone's lives through his faith, his smile, his beautiful singing voice and his endless love.
