Lee Avants was the youngest of 17 children. In April of 1957, he married the love of his life, Ora Faye (Ward) Avants. Together, they raised four daughters and several foster children. Mr. Avants was an electronics technician and worked for the military at the Pt. Mugu and Vandenberg Air Force Base installations. He retired after 29 years in that field.

After retirement, he filled his time enjoying his grandchildren, working around the house, writing Christian music, and enjoying sports.

His faith was his cornerstone and he was always willing to impart his unending Biblical wisdom when asked, without judgement, and always with a kind and loving heart.

Lee was preceeded in death by his wife, Ora Faye, in 2003. He was survived by four daughters, Valorie, Renee, Pamela and Mary, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was also survived by one brother, Ray Avants.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.
