Clyde Pritchett was a City Police Officer for Los Angeles, California. He served 12 1/2 Years for the Police Force, dying in the line of duty at age 42. Officer Pritchett was summoned to a scene of a domestic dispute. An estranged husband had gone to his wife's workplace and started an argument. Another Officer was already on the scene, struggling with the suspect. When Officer Pritchett arrived, the suspect broke free, produced a handgun, and shot Officer Pritchett in the chest. The suspect and the other Officer exchanged shots, wounding each other. The suspect later died from wounds he recieved when shot by other arriving Officers. The suspect had previously claimed he had gone to the business to commit suicide in front of his wife. Clyde Pritchett is buried in the same grave as his wife, Bonnie Pritchett.
