GORDON- Sharon Lee Libby Scott, 65 of Gordon passed away on Monday at a Stephenville hospital. Services will be 2 PM Saturday January 20, 2007 in the First Baptist Church in Gordon with Rev. Kurt Powell officiating. Burial will be in New Gordon Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 9 PM
The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Gordon Home Meals, P O Box 276, Gordon TX 76453 or Tri-City Ambulance, P O Box 271 Gordon TX 76453.

Sharon was born on August 1, 1941 in Kansas City, Jackson County Missouri to Louis "Nicks" Libbyand Violet Martin Libby. She grew up and graduated Paseo High school in Kansas City Missouri and attended two years at Junior College. She entered the United States Navy and met Curtis Scott. They were married on September 16, 1963 in Millington Tennessee. While in the service they traveled to many different places including Japan. However Florida was some of the happiest times in their life. After serving in the Navy and a year at Jones Business College, Sharon went to work for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in government contracts from 1975 to 2001 when she retired. Sharon and Curtis made their home in Gordon in 2001. She enjoyed taking care of people.

Sharon is survived by her husband Curtis Scott of Gordon, a daughter Shelley Marie Hurd of Hurst, a son Edward Curtis Scott of Crowley, a sister Rhoda Pate of Lee's Summit Missouri, a brother Robert E. Libby of Salt Lake City Utah, three grandchildren Rodney Hurd of Hurst, Amanda Lee and Shannon Marie Scott of Duncan, OK. Numerous extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.


Sharon passed away the day after her mother, Violet Martin Libby. Sharon was a very giving person to family and community and will be greatly missed by all.
