~*~*~My Great Grandmother~*~*~

Katherine "Katie" Berg was born in Galka, Russia in 1877, she was the daughter of Georg Heinrich Berg and Maria Elisabeth Katharina Borger.

She married George Beisel from Dreispitz, Russia, sometime in her twenties.

Together, with their eldest son, Reinhard, they arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on March 17, 1899 aboard the S.S. Munchen. George and Katie made their way to Marion County, Kansas where George's brother Andrew lived. They stayed until about 1917 when they relocated briefly to Wisconsin, before moving to Mason City, Iowa, where they now rest side by side.
