William Ray Royals, 56, of Decatur, Texas, died August 5,1996 in Tarrant County,Texas in an automobile accident. Born July 21, 1940 in Griffin, Spalding County, GA, he was the son of the late Rev. Henry Frank "Bud" Royals and the late Rena Drummond Royals. Mr. Royals was employed as a General Services Accounts Payable Clerk. He was a Retired Master Sgt. in the U.S.Army serving three tours in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He is survived by wife, Rose Chandler Royals of Decatur, TX; son, Michael Douglas Royals of Griffin, GA; daughter Alethea Kaye Royals of Griffin, GA; three step daughters, Rose Lawhon Smith of Tulsa,OK., Sandra Lawhon Michel of Arlington,TX.,Kim Lawhon Compton of Decatur, TX.; brother, Nathaniel Royals of Griffin, Ga.; sisters, Odessa Wilder, Maybell Norton, Mary Landers, Margie Kelley, Barbara Ann Boyd and Doris Head; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services were held 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 1996 at the McCullough Funeral Home Chapel in Griffin, GA. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
