Mrs. Martha Ann Pennington Nakamura of Universal City, TX, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Thursday March 28, 2013 at the age of 76.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Olivia Pennington, and brothers, Eugene, Michael and Robert Pennington and former spouses, Wyman "Ross" Cameron and Willie Bob Kosarek.
Survivors include her husband, Tatsuo "Jim" Nakamura, her children Robert Kosarek, Larry Kosarek, Sheryl Boykin and husband Ben, Colleen Bidwell and husband Victor, step children Alan Nakamura and Sharon Nakamura. Grandchildren Briana Munoz, Christina Martin, Brian Haren, and Keifer Bidwell, and great grandchild Michael Lozano; her brothers Wesley "Neal" Pennington (Jennie), Frank Pennington (Alfreda) and sister, Bettie Jo Baring and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She worked as a Civil Service secretary for many years. After her retirement she was very active in her church. She was a member of the Ukulele Ladies and Gents group and also did Hula dancing with the group. Martha enjoyed sewing and quilting as well as gardening, genealogy, photography, computers, cross stitch, and ballroom, square and round dancing.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday April 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church, 2515 Austin Highway, 78218. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 12672 Silicon Dr, 78249.
