Mother Baines was a very sweet and special individual. She would help anyone in need, including me. She would not let anyone go hungry and lacking.

Mother was a graduate of Hillside High School in Durham, and she moved to Fayetteville in the late '50-early '60s. Afterwards, she moved during the mid-'60s to Baltimore, Maryland. In the late '80s, she moved back to Fayetteville, to gain employment with a local restaurant, only to endure the tragedy of the owners' demise.

In April 1997, she gave her life to the Lord, and joined True Vine Ministries on Morganton Road. She was involved with the Hospitality Committee, Greeters Committee, as well as being one of the Mothers of the church. Speaking of that, she was a mother to one and all at True Vine, the young as well as the old. She also received a recognition certificate from WTVD 11 News' Jefferson Awards for Outstanding Service to her Community.

Mother Baines will be missed by all that loved her, especially her grandson, whom she raised since he was a baby. She is survived by 1 daughter, 6 grandchildren, a great-grandchild, numerous adopted children, church members, and relatives and friends.

Her son, Maurice Berry Barnes , passed September 10, 2002. She was also best friends with the late Yvonne Taylor. She was also close to the late Barbara Lee McCollough.

*IN LOVING MEMORY OF HER LIFE, LOVE, AND LEGENDARY LEGACY*
