Marlene Adelaide Nason Madderra

MARLENE ADELAIDE NASON MADDERRA NOV 19, 1941 - MAR 16, 2009 Marlene Madderra of Modesto, joined the Lord with her family by her side Monday morning at Memorial Hospital.

Marlene was the first born of four to Guy Nason, Jr., and Madelene Holloway, both predeceased, in Hollywood CA.

Marlene worked hard all her life, sometimes holding down more than one job. She retired from Proctor and Gamble in 1994 due to Multiple Sclerosis where she had worked over 20 years. She was a proud and active member of the Keyes Assembly Of God Tabernacle until she wasn't able to do it anymore.

She and her husband traveled all over, didn't matter if it was two wheels or six wheels - either taking rides to Sonora, Santa Nella for breakfast, to driving the 1965 Mustang in the Graffiti parades, to making annual trips to Laughlin, NV in the motorhome or trips back to OK.

Marlene grew up in the Oakdale area, along with areas of Los Angeles, finally settling in Modesto in 1967. Marlene loved cooking; collecting cook books and recipes, watching cooking shows, working in her yard, going to yard sales, sewing, crafts, she did small home repairs to auto repairs, and genealogy with her sister, Wendy.

After she was confined to the home, she loved watching the hummingbirds out the window, her wind chimes that everyone brought her and of course the cherry tree in bloom. She still cooked from her bed, telling her husband where things were located or how to cook it. He continued with her tradition for huge holiday meals when she couldn't do it anymore.

She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Diane Snyder; brother, Guy Bub'' Nason; which only leaves her baby sister, Wendy Watson to survive.

Marlene leaves her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Kenneth Bud'' Madderra. Children, Cyndi Adkins, of NM; Dawn Stamper of Ceres; Doug Peters of Waterford and Trista Davis of Idaho. Also Kenneth Madderra and Belinda Nicolodi both of Modesto. She leaves behind twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, sister and brother in laws, Aunt, Olive Posivak of OR. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 W. F St., Oakdale.

Services will be Friday afternoon at 2pm with viewing beginning at noon, cremation to follow.
