Njáll was the son of Símon Njálsson and Margrét Ingvarsdóttir. She and my mother were sisters. In 1947 he took a degree in B.A.A. at the University of Texas. Back in Iceland he made a career for himself within air transport and tour operations. He was an honorary member of Lions Club in Iceland and a lifelong member of Delta Sigma PI in the USA. His wife since 1957, Svava Sigríður Vilbergsdóttir, died on November 29, 2005.
