Shawn Anthony Anders, 19, of Kingsport passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 11, 2009, and is now in the arms of the Lord.
He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and was currently attending Northeast State for a degree in electrical mechanics. Shawn loved life and family. He was an LSU fan and enjoyed basketball and football.
Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Earl Taylor; great-grandmother, Marie Jo Smith; and great-grandfather, Clyde McDavid.
Surviving are his mother, Donna Jones and her husband Joey of Kingsport; his father, Doug Anders of Boones Creek; two sisters, Amber Mallett of Kingsport, Ashley Anders of Boones Creek; his grandparents, Virgil and Helen Anders and Gary and Frances McDavid Necessary; great-grandmother, Lois McDavid; several special aunts and uncles; many very special friends; and his girlfriend, Jessica Wilde.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Chad Riner officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Friends and relatives will serve as pallbearers.
