Sportscaster. A native of West Branch, Iowa he was an award winning play by play announcer for the University of Iowa, Vanderbilt University and the University of Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Iowa he worked at Keokuk and Cedar Rapids, Iowa before moving to Nashville, Tennessee where,from 1967 to 1978, he was sports director for WSM-TV and the "Voice of the Commodores". In 1978 he moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where he became sports director for television station KATV and the play by play announcer for the Razorbacks of the University of Arkansas. He was named the state's sportscaster of the year eleven times and won numerous Associated Press awards for his sporstcasting abilities. He was killed in an automobile accident returning home from a media event in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was seventy years old.
