Death of David W. Moose - Special to the Observer
Taylorsville, Nov. 8th - Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, Mr. David W. Moose, one of the oldest, if not oldest, citizen of the county, passed away. He was stricken with paralysis last Saturday and never regained consciousness. This was the second stroke, the first being about a year ago. If he had lived until next January he would have been 92 years old. "Uncle Davie," as he was familiarly called, was a quiet, unassuming man, kind-hearted, companionable and loved by all who knew him. He was one of the country's most substantial citizens. He was married to Miss Sophia Kivett of Rowan County 63 years ago. To this union was born nine children, eight of whom together with the widow, survives him.
