Richard was on the the first leg of a buying trip with 2 co-workers. He was on Korean Flight KAL 007 that was shot down near Sakhalin. In the hours waiting for confirmation of his safety, co-workers back in New York thought they were all safe and giving fashion advice. Tragically, this would not be the case. Richard was 32 and had lived in New Windsor, New York with his family.
