Axel W. Widegren, 63, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Utica Drive, died Saturday in Mound Park Hospital St. Petersburg.
Born in Worcester, he moved to Florida three years ago.
Mr. Widegren, a lineman for New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. for 34 years, retired in 1959.
He was a member of the Auburn Sportsmen's Club and the Pioneer Club of St. Petersburg.
He leaves a son, Robert S. Widegren of Pittsfield; a daughter, Janet M., wife of Frank E. Gilbert of Auburn; three sisters, Frances E., widow of Harold E. Sargent, Ruth E., widow of Hartley Morse, both of Worcester, and Edith L., wife of John Rasmussen of Portland, Maine; a brother, Frank A. Widegren of Holden and seven grandchildren.
