"Sara E. Gay, 81, loving wife and mother, of Denver, went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2008 at home. She and her husband, Edward J. Gay, were married 61 years.
Born in Bondsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Stella McComsey Scott. She was a graduate of Downingtown High School and loved gardening, camping, traveling, riding her bike, knitting, and bowling in her earlier years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 children: Barbara C. (Kenneth) Wenrich of Denver, Edward J. Jr. (Ginger) of Akron, Sandra Dee Briggs of New Freedom and Barry L. (Sandy) of Lititz; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura (George) Steindurf of Eagle, PA; brothers, Charles Scott Jr. of Columbia, SC, and James (Charmaine) Scott of Downingtown. She was predeceased by 2 grandchildren: Jason Wenrich and Stephanie Beck, and 4 sisters.
Funeral Monday, November 10, at 11:00 AM at the Roseboro Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, PA with a Viewing from 10-11:00 AM. Interment in Fairview Cemetery Annex, Denver, PA.
