-- EDGEMOOR - Adam Esco Nichols, 98, Route 1, Formerly of Fort Mill, died Sunday at Chester County Hospital.

Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.

Mr. Nichols was a retired textile worker. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a Woodman.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ollie Myrtle Jones Nichols; two sons, Jesse C. Nichols of Edgemoor, Jack T. Nichols of Rock Hill; four daughters, Mrs. Violet N. Green of Rock Hill, Mrs. Gladys N. Forehand of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Faye N. Moody of New York, N.Y., Mrs. Vashti N. Strickland of Crescent City, Fla., a bother, Allen Blaine Nichols of Monroe, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Della Greeson of Buford, Ga.; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren and a great-great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mrs. Ruth Wright, 1004 Charlotte Highway, Fort Mill.
