Christopher was from Mount Dora, Florida. He talked about joining the military since the age of 10 years, and did so after graduating from Mount Dora High School in June 2004. He was a Ground Communications Organizations Technician, assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. He left for Iraq in April of 2007, just after getting engaged to his high-school sweetheart. His personal awards include the National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Christopher was very proud to be a Marine and of the Marines Corps. He was a free-spirited, happy-go-lucky guy, known for his quick wit and teasing personality. He used to run bare-foot down dirt roads and wear his boots without socks, and some called him fearless. Christopherโ€™s personal awards include the Purple Heart Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Marine Corps good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/Bronze Star, Global war on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
