Daughter of Jane Hill and Luther B. Allen. Married to Frank Louis Goff on 04 Jan 1878 in Maiden Rock, WI by Rev. Ottis. They had 10 children. Moved from Lake City MN to Lidgerwood ND in 1887 so that Frank could work on a ranch. Charlotte was reportedly short and petite. Cause of death was acute pancreatitis (2 days) and cardiac decompensation (6 mo). One record says she was buried in Lidgerwood on 25 May 1947 at Methodist Moravian Cemetery but another family member provided cemetery information as Pleasant View.

Rites for Mrs. Goff Held Monday

Mrs. F. L. (Adelade [sic]) Goff was born in Canada December 25, 1858. Here she lived with her parents until young womanhood, when the family moved to Boon, Michigan.

She was united in marriage to Frank L. Goff at Lake City, Minn., on January 4, 1879 where the couple remained until coming to Dakota in July 1887 where they settled on a farm south of Lidgerwood.

In 1900 they moved to a farm north of Lidgerwood and remained on this farm until October 1906 when they moved to Lidgerwood where Mr. Goff was employed in the local flour mill. Some years after leaving the mill, he served as an auctioneer. He also served as police magistrate for a number of years. Mr. Goff passed away December 31, 1943.

Since the death of Mr. Goff Mrs. Goff has made her home in Lidgerwood until February of this year when she was taken to the Wahpeton hospital. Three weeks ago she was moved to the Hankinson hospital.

Mrs. Goff had been in ill health and abed for the last 18 months. She passed away at Hankinson May 24, 1947 at 2:45 p. m.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. C. E. Smith of Covina, Calif., Mrs. J. W. Doan of Makenzie [sic], N. D., Mrs. J. P. Baumann of Fairmount, N. D., and Mrs. Florence Palzak of Covina, Calif.; by four sons, Clayton of Mankato, Minn., George of Valley City, Leonard of Lidgerwood and Frank of Rutland, N. D. There are also 16 grandchildren and 19 (?) great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Methodist church on Monday May 26 at 2 p. m., with Rev. O. Kinzler officiating. Interment was made at the Pleasant View cemetery.

Active pallbearers were: Alvin Strege, Ralph Bohn, A. H. Heley, Lee Swanson, W. H. Christians and A. H. Wirtenberger.

Honorary pallbearers were Dan Riley, August Wolter, Frank Lyons, George Collings, James T. Lynch, Herman Schustrum and Herman Worcester.

Goff Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Goff and daughter of Mankato, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. George Goff and sons of Valley City; Frank Goff of Rutland; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baumann of Fairmount; Mrs. Jewell Doan and Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Doan Jr., of near Bismarck; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Baumann of Rutland; and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Baumann and daughter of Willmar, Minn.
