Son of Euphemia Wilson and Robert Henderson. Born in Dysart [now encompassed by Kirkcaldy], Fifeshire, and died in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, at age 82. He first married Isabella Sharp on 16 Apr 1855 in Dysart; she died in 1894. He married his second wife, Isabella Steel, on 13 Oct, 1896, at St. George's in Edinburgh; she died in 1907. George had 11 children with his first wife. He was a shoemaker and was Presbyterian. George and both wives are bured in the Dysart Cemetery, Fife, Scotland. He came to visit in the United States at least twice, with the intention of moving here but did not stay. He arrived the first time on 24 Sep 1907, traveling on the ship Furnessia which departed from Glasgow, Scotland. He arrived the second time on 25 Mar 1910 on the ship Lusitainia which departed from Liverpool, England. An entry on Ancestry.com says he died in Lasswade, Rutherford Place, Bonnyrigg, Scotland, from Angina, Cardiac Syncope.
