She married Leon Burkhalter on June 4, 1955 at Durant, Oklahoma.

Bea worked at the Blue Bell Wrangler Jeans Plant, Noels, Otasco, and May's Home Health as a provider. She was a loving mother and wife.
Bea was a longtime member of the Atoka First Assembly of God Church.
She helped with the INCA food and clothing bank and received the Volunteer of the Year Award from INCA.
