New Ulm — Lucas J. Boldt, 2, of New Ulm, was called home to meet his heavenly father on January 2, 2008, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, January 5 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with Pastor Garry Grunzke officiating. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Lafayette. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday and continue on Saturday from 7:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.Lucas is survived by his mother, Dara Lenz of New Ulm; father David Boldt of Belleville, Illinois; uncle, Brent Lenz of New Ulm; grandparents, Becky Tykwinski of New Ulm, A. Dean Lenz of St. James, Missouri, Marge and Dave Boldt of Cuba, Missouri; great-grandparents, Norman and Virginia Evans of Balaton, Barbara Lenz of Marshall; and by numerous aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Roger Tykwinski and great-grandpa Jim Lenz.Lucas Joari Boldt was born February 12, 2005 in Belleville, Illinois, and his parents got to take him home on Valentine's Day.Lucas was fearless, very loving and outgoing. He was always waving and saying "hi" to people and got the nickname "The Little Politician." But he was best known as "Lukie" by his family and friends. Lucas referred to his mom as his "Best Friend."He was a very special young man who brought joy and smiles everywhere he went. He will be sadly missed by all.Blessed be his memory.
