Butch was abandoned in front of a grocery store in December 1997. He was around eight years old and had been badly neglected and abused and therefore did not have the best temperament, but he loved me and I loved him.
He was my "weatherman" because he was terrified of thunderstorms and knew when one was coming several hours before it arrived. He would let me know by cuddling up to me and I could feel him trembling. His predictions were always right and he would stay snuggled up to me or in my lap until the storm was over.
