Jet Crash Kills Pilot Near Presque Isle Base
Presque Isle, Me., April 16 (AP) A F-86 jet fighter plane crashed and burned in woods three miles north of here late today, killing the pilot and spraying the area with .50 caliber ammunition.
Presque Isle Air Force Base identified the pilot as Capt. William T. Ferguson, 32, of Mesa, Ariz., who had been in the service since 1940.
