Bob was the son of Lois Oxford and Robert Fox Sr. His mother died when he was only two years old. In 1940, his father married Margarette Harris Sullivan, who had a son from a prior marriage. The family was increased by the later birth of a daughter.

Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in the mid 1950s and honorably served for 20 years. He married Susan Povlin on September 20, 1959, and they had three children during the course of his military assignments. His overseas tours included France, Taiwan, England, Vietnam and Thailand. After military retirement, he became an intrastate over-the-road trucker, a profession he continued until completely retiring. For many years, he and Sue owned an RV and they often traveled.

In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert Fox Sr.; his step-mother, Ruth Margarette Fox; his step-brother, Walter Sullivan, and his half-sister Sharon Fox Rainbolt. He is survived by his wife, Sue; two daughters, Mary (Tony) Rice and Vicki (Jeff) Brekke; son, Robert Fox III; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

AN ASIDE: After my sister Lois Oxford Fox died, another sister, Iona, wanted to ensure that Bob (then referred to as Eddie) maintained a close relationship with the Oxford family. She convinced his father to allow young Eddie frequent contact and visits with the Oxford family. As he grew, I am positive that Bob welcomed that close family feeling as much as we did.

Although he was my nephew, Bob was born before me. Consequently, our interaction in youth and especially after we had grown was more like brothers. He was a quiet person and didn't need a lot of talk to make his point, but we always enjoyed our times together. He enjoyed restoring old cars..., and conversation of cars was always a good lead-in to break a "quiet" moment. He will be truly missed..., not only by his immediate family, but by the larger Oxford clan.
