Dorothy Ethel Wagner May
Birth: Dec. 20, 1895
Jasper County
Illinois, USA
Death: May 29, 1988
Olney
Richland County
Illinois, USA

Dorothy was the daughter of John D Wagner and Bertha (Fear) Wagner. She was the oldest of three children; sister Nora and brother Raymond were her siblings.

Dorothy first married Will Wakefield (1890-1919) who died of pneumonia early in their marriage. They had no children. In 1921, she married Ira Irvin May and celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary the September prior to her death.

She and Ira had 3 daughters and 3 sons. She was a hard-working and big-hearted woman with a big laugh. She loved to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren (she'd run through 20 or so names before she finally hit the right one she was wanting!), and great-grandchildren, all who remember her with love.
