James was US navy veteran of WWII, having served aboard the U.S.S Archerfish as Torpedoman's Mate Second Class and was part of the crew that sent the largest Japanese aircraft carrier to the ocean floor. He loved gardening and driving his vehicles giving the family dogs a free ride! His favorite color was purple so I always gave him something purple for fathers day, christmas, and his birthday. Dad loved watching old movies. He seemed to know the name of every movie star. He was a big fan of Frank Sinatra. I think that's where I get my interest of old fame! This man whom I call "dad" adopted me when I was an infant. His wife, my grandmother, daughter gave birth to me when she was a young girl and was unable to care for me. So they both adopted me. Though mom and I never always got along, The second I was born, before I was cleaned up, Dad bent down and kissed me on the head.

Dad wanted to die alone because he wanted his death to be something private between him and his Lord. He got his wish. Dad passed away one month before my high school graduation. I was in class @ PHS when I got the news. It was a very sad graduation but I wore his wedding band around my neck so a part of him would be with me throughout the ceremony. He was with me then, through my college graduation, and through my wedding. I love him so much and he is sadly missed.
"When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be."

Cause of Death: Heart attack.
