8 Year old Christina was shot in the head by 17 year old uncle. It was due to untreated mental illness and a history of domestic abuse. He didn't plan it. And I have no doubt that he told the truth about not remembering. His young son is suddenly getting angry and has no memory. I know better than anyone how angry the uncle would get. It comes on quickly. Then he has no memory. His mom alway taught him that it's everyone else's fault.

Also there are kids who recieved the gift of life that christmas because of organ donation. One little girl who was sick with CF needed a new set of lungs. She is still here today because she recieved the ones Chrissy no longer needed. There were other cases as well.

Chrissy did not leave this earth in vein. In more ways than one her death saved others.

The story of who she is after dying is about as far her story is told. Everyone knows how she died and how others were saved. She became a picture and a paragraph.

I never met Chrissy but I think she would want the story of her life to be told. She was a little girl, not just a statistic. An 8 year old with dreams and hopes like any other child. She wanted to be a magician. Look closely at those pictures and you will notice she is wearing a magician's hat. Her Grandma was a magician. She was a part of the magic acts. She once was in a production of The Wizard of Oz.

For Christmas that year she wanted a New kids on the block tape, and some magic tricks. Other kids got what they desperately
wanted that year. She didn't get a chance to get what she wanted..... Instead she got wings.

I think she is smiling down from heaven because of what happened after her death. But by also being remembered for who was in life makes her smile a little brighter.

Her cousin who was born 17 years later is starting to show signs of his fathers mental illness. He is getting treatment. And this time there is no mom making excuses for his anger. It's his own fault. Because of his cousin Chrissy his story is shared as a warning of what will happen if you make excuses for your mentally ill child and blame others when he gets so angry. This time it's not to get attention about "look how great I am."

Her cousins never met her. They were born around 20 years later. They don't remember any of the family. But they still love her.

I didn't create this page but it was transferred to me since my children are her family. It use to say it was an accident. But after doing some research and knowing her uncle I know that wasn't the truth. If any family feel they should be in charge please notify me.

TEACHERS, FRIENDS RECALL 8-YEAR-OLD SLAIN BY GUNSHOT

Even among 470 schoolmates, Christina Baranski, 8, was a bright light, burning with affection and earnest purpose.

She greeted teachers with a hug and kiss, updating them on the garden at her home.

"She was proud of the peppers this year," said Donna Kolb, principal of Christina's school. "They must have gotten quite large."

A silence so loud, it echoes in my ears,
Visions not quite there I cannot see through my tears.
All the love I want to give, the hugs we cannot share,
My arms are so empty for they touch only air.
The laughing, the playing, the good times we had,
How I loved you and did not like you, when you were bad.

These are all but a memory, since you are not here,
All I have are pictures, that I hold so dear.
The ground is now settling, in the place where you lay,
One of your toys marks the spot, so I can find you each day.

How do I tell you Happy Birthday this year?
Or how much I love you and miss you my dear?
One thing you must know, even though we are apart,
You will always live on, in that place in my heart.
