Mrs. Darlene Crawford Brantley went home to be with the Lord on late Saturday evening, April 18, 2009 as a result of an auto accident. The middle daughter of a military family, she was born in Norfolk, Virginia. Darlene was a member of Blackrock Baptist Church in Yulee, Florida being active in the choir, teacher of the women's Bible studies, and an adult Sunday School teacher. Besides being a prayer warrior, Darlene truly loved reading God's word and "passing it on" to others. She had been ordained deacon at a prior church in south Georgia. Until 2 years ago, she was an RN in the operating room. She was the homemaker for her family keeping a beautiful home and garden, which she opened with warm hospitality to so many. She was described as being a firecracker who stays busy as a bee. Darlene was loved by so many and a wonderful wife, mother, sister, Nana and friend to so many.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Paul Brantley; daughters Melissa Penrod, Dana Kicklighter and Paula Brantley Jones; grandchildren, Caitlin Kicklighter, Samantha Kicklighter, Bailey Kicklighter, John Thomas Penrod, Brantley Jones and Paul Bower; mother, Marge Crawford; and sisters, Jonelle Warkaske and Becky Stafford.

"If we are the Body, why aren't his hands healing. If we are his lips why aren't we praying or witnessing. If we are his feet why aren't we walking...." Casting Crowns
