It shows her name as Dorothy Thurtell and that she was born August 1, 1921, in Mt. View, Howell County, Missouri, and was a white female. Her parents are shown as Frank Thurtell, born in Wisconsin, and Mary May Jensen, born in Iowa. Dorothy Richardson signed her birth affidavit for this document on November 16, 1983, showing her address as 423 Stageline Road, Oroville, California 95965. Supporting evidence for the birth certificate is listed as her Certificate of Marriage Record, Record 16, Page 367, Lincoln County, Nebraska, filed September 11, 1936, showing she was 16 years old and born in Mt. View, Missouri; a photocopy of a family Bible record made between June 17,1909, and December 6, 1925, showing she was born August 1, 1921; and an affidavit of an older brother, Elmer Smith, North Platte, Nebraska, made January 23, 1984, showing she was born August 1, 1921, in Mt. View, Missouri.

Dorothy Thurtell and Carl Henry Richardson were married by Judge Sandallat at the Court House in North Platte, Lincoln County, Nebraska on September 11, 1937, according to information received from Jane Ward in 1997. She and her husband lived at 423 Stageline Road, Oroville, California, from about 1976 until 1996. Prior to that they lived in Redondo Beach, Ca. for 20 years. Dorothy Richardson attended the 1999 Thurtell Family Reunion in Cleveland, New York, and provided a great deal of information about her descendants. She stated she had eight children, 29 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren as of August 1999. She keeps birthday and anniversary lists and a book on all her family members and can remember where virtually all of them were born and married. Grandchildren and great grandchildren become part of her extended family immediately, regardless of whether their relationship to her is based on their birth or the marriage of their parent to one of her descendants. She sometimes uses a cane and is bothered by arthritis, but her memory as of August 1999 is outstanding. In a March 2000 e-mail her daughter, Jane Ward, recalled that Dorothy and Carl Richardson enjoyed square dancing and round dancing and belonged to several clubs, dancing sometimes as often as three times a week. An e-mail from Jane Ward on July 24, 2000, advised that Dorothy Richardson had suffered a heart attack but had been released from the hospital and was back living with her sister, May Thurtell Thomas. She advised that Dorothy had suffered congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema, and heart muscle damage complicated by renal degradation.
