Cousin Howard was the son of Luden Greenland and Jennie Nailes Greenland. He worked for the H & B.T. Railroad as a brakeman and an extra conductor. He met death on the morning of August 28, 1907 at Fisher's Summit, north of Saxton, Pa. Howard was riding on the pilot engine when he fell off. The engine passed over him and severed both legs. His body was taken to Saxton and prepared for burial. Howard was only 24 years old when he died and worked for the railroad for only three years before his death. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and Brotherhood of Trainsmen. He never married or had any children.
