Monroe Casey was born at or near Witts Spring, Searcy County, Arkansas. He farmed and worked in the timber industry most of his life. He also served his Ozone, AR community on their school board. Except for a brief sojourn in south Texas, where their youngest child was born, he was a lifelong resident of Searcy, Pope and Johnson counties in Arkansas. A lifelong member of the church of Christ, he last resided at the Rosewood Manor nursing home in Norman, Oklahoma, under the care of his daughter and youngest child, Mrs. Evelyn Lessly. His tombstone incorrectly states that he died on 26 December.
