Mahlon E. Hoover of Cross Keys, died at 7 a.m. today in his home, after an extended illness. He was born in Fredericksburg Oct. 6, 1888, a son of John H. and Catherine (Replogle) Hoover, and was married to Dora E. Coltabaugh Aug. 24, 1911, in the Duncansville Lutheran Church by the Rev. Isaac Krider.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Earl B. of Duncansville, Kenneth L. of Cross Keys and Donald F. of Carson Valley, and 14 grandchildren.

Mr. Hoover was a member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. He had served as caretaker and trustee of the Carson Valley Cemetery from 1938 to 1959, and retired as a car inspector for the PRR in 1946.

Friends received in Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville 7-9 p.m. Thursday, and 2-9 p.m. Friday. Services at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren by Rev. Perry Liskey. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.
