Obituary:
Stefanie Sue Bol (Shields) went up to her Home with the Lord, early morning on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008, after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Born on January 3rd, 1980, Stefanie spent her life in Grand Haven with help and care from her mother and father, Tina and Rick Shields. In 2003, Stefanie married her high school sweetheart, Nicholas Bol, spending 5 wonderful years together looking after their very special dog "Snickers." Stefanie loved cosmetology and, after graduating from Daniel's School of Cosmetology, found happiness in the salon her husband created for her in their home. Stefanie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where her enthusiastic spirit for life and her faith will continue on. Stefanie had the ability to light up a room and truly change the lives of everyone she encountered. Though she accomplished so many things in her life, Stefanie's greatest accomplishment was life itself. She lived by the motto, "life is good" and no matter what challenges she faced, Stefanie persevered with a smile and a good word. Though too short, she lived a very full life and loved her family and friends very much. The memories of Stefanie will continue to live on through those that she touched. The family expresses a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at Spectrum Health (Butterworth) in Grand Rapids. Stefanie is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas; her parents Rick and Tina Shields; her Mother and Father-in-law Rick and Karen Bol, all of Grand Haven. Also by her grandparents, Vitalis Jastrzembski, Jerry (Doris) Pitcher and Shirley Bol, all of Grand Haven, and many loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sue Jastrzembski; grandparents Ronald and Eleanor Shields; grandfather James Bol; Nicholas' brother, Eric Bol, and a cousin; Karl Jastrzembski. The funeral liturgy for Stefanie will be held on Friday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. William Langlois officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad of Grand Haven. Please use the East Entrance. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Stefanie's name may be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 551 36th St., Grand Rapids, MI 49548, or to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
