Mrs. Bertha Bell Johnson Holley, age 97 of Crockett, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 in the Whitehall Nursing Center. Mrs. Holley was born April 6, 1910 in Houston County, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Crockett. Mrs. Holley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crockett. Mrs. Holley taught Sunday School for 40 plus years and was a housewife.
Survivors include her daughter Ida Faye Higgins and husband Jimmy, of Latexo; grandchildren Patsy Gilson and husband Danny, of Latexo, Beverly Coates and husband Terry, of Oakwood and Janet Hopkins and husband Terry, of Latexo; great-grandchildren Jake Gilmore and wife Nikki, of Beaver, Okla., Matthew Hopkins, of Latexo, Jeremy Hopkins, of Crockett, Adam Hopkins of Fairbanks, AK. and Amber Martin, of Crockett; great-great-grandson Rustyn Gilmore of Beaver, Okla.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her husbands Wesley Lee Johnson and Joe Holley; son Leland Merle Johnson; grandson Billy Otis Harrington; and sons-in-law Bill Harrington and Artice Allen.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bertha Bell Johnson Holley were held Sunday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Lowery officiating. Interment followed in the Latexo Cemetery.
