Tommie and the family met her at the train depot in Crockett in June of 1947. She was very proud of her British Heritage and was a member of the Church of England. Her first child was christened at St Ambrose not far from the family home. She was one of the very few young women selected to go to the University to further her education when she finished school. When World War II began, and the young men were gone, her father took her out of the University to work in his brother's shop. Then men did not see the need for women to further their education.
