Pearl loved her family. She was always there for them during sickness, to nurse them back to health. She had been taught by her father, Dr HL McCall, who practiced in Tadmor and Ratcliff. It had been her wish to study to be a nurse, but instead she choose the life of being a wife and mother.

She was a hard worker, quick with her steps and work. She helped her husband, Jess, in his lumber business, being his bookkeeper. They spent several years in the Big Thicket area, Hardin County, Texas, living in Kountz, with the mills on location of the timber.

They retired back to the Tadmor Community, where they had raised their five children, JH, Hazel, Leroy, Lois and Kenneth.

Pearl was very active in getting the Baptist Church started again, it had been inactive for several years.

She was happy to be back home where she liked to garden and enjoy country life. She had one of the largest fig trees in the area.

She was also able to see to the needs of her parents, Dr and Mrs HL McCall. She was always their for others.

She remembered the birthdays of all her grandchildren, she was a very special Grannie and Mother.
