Annette had a twin brother named Samuel Legrand Golson. Annette was the petite little girl and Samuel was the big, robust boy. Samuel died at approx. 6 months old. Annette lived to be 97 years old. She was always a petite, true southern lady.

On 10/28/1934 Annette married Joseph (Joe) Capers Hiott. They had a daughter and a son who still reside in SC. Annette was a school teacher.
