Cpl. Betty Ann Smothers died Thursday, January 7, 1993, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 36, a native of St. Francisville and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a police officer with the Baton Rouge City Police Department.
Survived by her parents, George Smothers, New Orleans, and Willie D. Wheeler, Baton Rouge; two daughters; four sons; a sister, Mary Lee Barnes; a brother, Timothy Wheeler Jr.; godmother, Ceola, all of Baton Rouge; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her step-father, Timothy Wheeler; and grandmother, Corrine Dunn.
