Andrew P. Peik, 33, died Thursday at home after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Rockville Center, Mr. Peik grew up in Valley Stream.
He was a teacher at Voorheesville Central School, Springfield Central School, Mohawk Central High School and South Lewis Central High School. He also taught and was an assistant principal at Owen D. Young Central School and Sauquoit Valley Central School.
He was a member of the adjunct professor faculty at Mohawk Valley Community College, State University College at Oneonta, Empire State College and State University of New York at Cobleskill.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; two daughters, Katherine Anne Peik and Elizabeth Sara Peik, both at home; his parents, Arthur and Mary Peik, both of Valley Stream; a sister, Karen Homer of Mineola; a brother, Christopher of Malverne; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Mincher of Valley Stream; his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Peik of Westbrook, Conn.; and a niece and a nephew.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Cherry Valley. Burial is in Cherry Valley Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
