My great great grandfather
Died Friday Feb. 8, 1901 at 12:20 in Winslow, Indiana. Funeral service at G.B. Church Sunday at 10:30 am. Funeral under direction of I.O.O.F and D. of R. Lodges. Undertaker C.V. Young Co.

At twenty minutes past twelve on Friday afternoon, Fletcher H. Curtis passed from this to another world. For several weeks he had been suffering from a large boil but was out and down town about 10 days ago. He took down with pneumonia but was not considered dangerous until the day of his death when a suudden stroke of paralysis stopped the heart's beat and he was no more. None of his immediate relatives were with him at the time of his death but his faithful wife and one daughter, Mrs. Clark Whitman, the balance being away. Deceased was one of the oldest residents of this community and leaves besides a wife and four children many friends to mourn his sudden departure. "Uncle Doc" as he was familiarly known was a veteran of the civil war having served in Co. H. 80th Ind. Regiment. He was a prominent Odd Fellow having been a member of the order since back in the 60's. Was a charter member of Palace lodge of this city where he will be sorely missed. Was 65 years, 10 months and 3 days old. The funeral took place Sunday morning from the G.B. Church of which deceased was a prominent member. The funeral was under the direction of Palace lodge No. 557, Rev. Burch preforming the last rites. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery.
