Karen Kaye Fulk, 63, Riley, passed away on Thursday morning, September 6, 2012 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born December 1, 1948 in Evansville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clayton Elwood and Marcia Mae Vinyard Curtis. On May 3, 1969, she was married to Joe Ray Fulk, and he preceded in death on April 30, 2009.

Karen graduated as Valedictorian of Winslow High School. She then went on to graduate from Indiana State University with a degree in Dietetics. For many years, Karen worked at the Post Office in Terre Haute retiring in 2011.

Karen was a talented quilter and sewed many beautiful and unique quilts for her family. She was an artist with crafts and decorating and spent many hours turning something old and ordinary into something beautifully new and extraordinary. She loved her family and was always entertaining and hosting dinners on her front porch where she spent countless hours with a needle and thread making her beautiful quilts.

Karen was a wonderful grandmother and a devoted mother. She leaves behind her three children, Scott Frazier Fulk, Riley; Cliffton Clay Fulk and wife Charlotte, Riley; and "T.J." Timothy Joe Fulk and wife Rachel, Indianapolis; her grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Helen Elizabeth Fulk, Katlyn Eileen Fulk, and Ely Clay Fulk, and Jaydon Joseph Fulk; her mother, Marcia Curtis, Santa Clause, Indiana; one brother, Stuart Curtis and wife Jane, along with their children Alex and Colin; three sisters-in-law, Joan Fulk, Terre Haute; Edna Fulk, Muncie; and Georgia Fulk, Terre Haute; one brother-in law, Hal W. McClain, Denver; and she also leaved behind many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Leroy Fulk and wife Sharon; and William Arthur "Bill" Fulk; and one sister-in-law, Nancy Kay McClain.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Oak Hill Community Church, Riley with Pastor Jeff Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
